Job Description

Gilead Sciences is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner/Director to join us, and provide support within the Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing (PDM) Human Resources team. This role is based in Foster City, California.

In this role you will be the primary HRBP for one or more vice presidents (VPs) and their organizations within the Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing (PDM) organization based in Foster City. The VPs are located in Foster City; their organizations may have teams and functions worldwide. You will partner directly with leaders and their management teams to provide a full-range of HR services and support.

You will be a member of a team of ten HRBPs supporting the larger PDM organization. This role is an opportunity to work with talented people to bring forth innovation within the pharmaceutical industry. As an HRBP at Gilead you will be expected to

* Provide proactive HR leadership & business consultation, and possess the ability to influence business leadership
* Possess strong knowledge of the business priorities and have the ability to identify, recommend, and implement solutions that meet business objectives
* Be an advisor to leadership on operational and strategic HR programs
* Identify and implement HR programs and initiatives
* Recommend and make decisions which impact and influence your functions and sites
* Articulate a strong point of view and champion decisions across functions and regions
* Lead high impact Gilead HR programs for a function or site (i.e. talent management, year-end review process)
* Participate as a team member on special projects providing HR expertise (i.e. job leveling analysis)
* Support and/or lead change initiatives that impact the function or site (i.e. organizational restructures, process/system improvements)
* In partnership with our ER team manage and resolve employee relations issues through effective and objective investigation processes, ensuring adherence to appropriate employment laws and Gilead policies
* In partnership with our Learning & Development COE, manage training needs analysis and develop training solutions to build capability within the assigned client group
* Partners with the HR COEs to deliver customized programs as needed within performance management, compensation, employee relations, training and staffing, and analytics.
* Develop and conduct presentations to employees and managers on a variety of HR subjects
* Some travel will be required.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

* Typically requires Possess a BA/BS
* 12+ Years HR experience including as a business partner with at least 1 year in a biopharmaceutical company
* An MA/MS degree can be substituted for 2 years of related experience.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required (should be skilled in use of word, power point, and excel).
